School of Humanities

The School of Humanities was established in December 1999. It was formed from the original Department of Chinese and History. The Department of Chinese and History is the same age as the school. Its predecessor was the Chinese and History Departments of Hangzhou Teachers College established in 1956 . The college takes moral cultivation as its fundamental mission, adheres to the school- running philosophy of "people-oriented, educating people with culture" , and strives to become a stage for students to pursue truth and complete morality and a garden for teachers to impart humanistic spirit. At present, the college has two full-time undergraduate majors: Chinese language and literature and history. It is responsible for cultivating qualified middle school Chinese and history teachers with lofty family and country feelings and a strong mission of the times for the province and even the whole country. Children's literature and other specialized talents. Chinese language and literature and history have won the first batch of national-level first-class undergraduate major construction sites , of which Chinese language and literature are the first batch of provincial key majors and national-level characteristic major construction sites, and the first batch of nationally passed second -level teacher certification majors . It has 1 national-level teaching team, 3 national-level courses , and 1 national-level virtual simulation project . The Chinese language and literature and Chinese history disciplines of the college were selected as first-class disciplines (category A) in Zhejiang Province respectively . Up to now, the college has set up a national language and character promotion base, and has successively built 5 provincial research platforms: 1 provincial key research base for philosophy and social sciences (Jiangnan Cultural Research Center), 1 provincial key research base for humanities and social sciences in colleges and universities ( Modern Literature and Traditional Culture Research Base), 1 provincial "2011 Collaborative Innovation Center" (Zhejiang Learning Inheritance and Local Governance Modernization Collaborative Innovation Center), 1 Provincial Philosophy and Social Sciences Cultivation Base (Children's Literature Research Center) ,1 provincial social science popularization base (Children's Literature Research Center) . Since 2016, the School of Humanities has won 81 projects of the National Social Science Fund , including 7 major bidding projects and 12 key projects of the National Social Science Fund. He has won 3 second prizes for outstanding achievements in humanities and social sciences of the Ministry of Education ; 12 provincial philosophy and society outstanding achievement awards; published more than 400 CSSCI journal papers, including 3 top papers, 37 authoritative papers and authoritative reprinted journal papers; published various types of papers More than 300 works, textbooks and literary works, 3 of which were selected into the "National Philosophy and Social Science Achievement Library". The college currently has 1,413 full-time undergraduate students, 398 master students, and 32 doctoral students; 126 faculty members , including 100 full-time teachers, 35 professors , 29 associate professors , and 95 doctoral degree teachers . The college has been recruiting postgraduates since 1979, and has formed a complete school-running system from undergraduate to post-doctoral fellows. The school has 2 first-level discipline doctoral programs (Chinese language and literature, Chinese history) and 1 first-level discipline postdoctoral station (Chinese language and literature). There are 3 first-level disciplines conferring master's degrees in Chinese language and literature, Chinese history, and world history, 16 second-level disciplines conferring degrees, and a master's degree in public administration (MPA) professional degree (cultural undertaking management direction). The training model of the college is distinctive and has achieved remarkable results. It has trained a large number of secondary school teachers, well-known writers, directors, radio hosts, etc. Lv Junfang was named "National Outstanding College Student", Xu Shujie, Wang Xuan and Zhou Xiaojuan were successively named "Top Ten College Students in Zhejiang Province". Chen Binqiang was awarded the national moral model, Wu Xuelan's novel "The Legend of Zhen Huan in the Harem" was adapted into a TV series and broadcasted nationwide, and Jiang Peng became the youngest scholar to land on CCTV's "Hundred Schools Forum" with "Three Faces of Emperor Wu of Han". The " Chinese Culture Festival " won the honor of outstanding traditional Chinese culture in national colleges and universities. Asi Opera Club won the first prize for outstanding achievements in the construction of campus culture in colleges and universities in China .
