Description

The Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA) was founded by presidential order in 2010. This involved the merger of two previously existing academies: the Academy of National Economy (ANE), which was established in 1977, and the Russian Academy of Public Administration (RAPA), established in 1991. The merger also brought together 12 other state educational institutions. Each of the merged academies had already earned reputations for training Russia’s political elite. From the moment of its creation in 1977, ANE prided itself as the breeding grounds for future ministers. With the fall of the Soviet Union, ANE changed its strategic model from training members of the “Nomenclatura” to providing high-quality business education for a new generation of leaders by becoming an institute of higher education that offers a wide array of academic opportunities in the field of management. Likewise, RAGS has traditionally been a national leader in providing public management training for current and future state and municipal civil servants.

I am studying on full-time studies at the Russian Academy of National Economy and Public Administration under the President of the Russian Federation. After studying at this university for six months, I am very pleased, because during this period the teachers and administration did not disappoint my expectations. There are many positive reviews about the university and the absence of corruption in it. The session was difficult, but I passed all the exams and tests successfully. To study interesting and fun, the student council of the university constantly conducts steep student projects. As a result, I want to say that I am pleased with my choice and I advise you to do this university.

This university owns a friendly environment for students including international ones. There are worthy English Master programs. What should be improved? Certainly, how to organize and facilitate life for foreigners.

Large Academy where you can choose any humanitarian speciality and then after garaduation build great career in the chosen sphere. There is large variety of bachelor's, master's and PhD's programs. Also you can easily go abroad to study thanks to presence of exchange programs with universities all over the world. Also annualy it holds one of the most important economic forum of Russia - Gaidar forum, where the elite of Russia and invitees from other countries discuss topical issues of international agenda. There are a lot of opportunities to develop your skills, to grow up as a professional, to find new important contacts and start your career.

To my mind, RANEPA has its pros and cons as well. The pros would be the next ones: 1. great opportunities of participating in international exchange programs; 2. a lot of international/ national events, forums, conferences organized in the Academy; 3. a wide range of foreign languages suggested to learn; 4. some professors are really professional (and exigent as well) and give a profound knowledge of their subjects; 4. opportunity to meet a lot of interesting people, sometimes even members of international organizations; 5. the university residence is situated at the territory of the university so you won't be late for classes; 6. there's the opportunity to work while studying. The cons of this academic institution are: 1. some given subjects result to be really useless and have nothing to do with your career; 2. not all professors give profound knowledge of their subjects and some of them don't care about your understanding of the subject; 3. difficult structure organization; 4. you have classes in different buildings and that's not really comfortable
