BA in Japanology

Students of the bachelor s programme in Japanology at the University of Vienna gain an understanding of modern Japan from a perspective of cultural studies and social sciences, based on Japanese language and scripts, as well as relevant historical foundations. Graduates of the bachelor s programme have the following qualifications: language proficiency in written and spoken Japanese, intercultural competences related to Japan, ability to work with Japanese source materials, basic knowledge of Japan, history, society, culture, politics and economy.
