Chemistry with specialisation in Materials Chemistry BSc

The aims of the BSc (Hons) - Chemistry program are (i) to provide an advanced understanding of the core principles and topics of Chemistry and to enable students to acquire specialized knowledge and training of selected areas of chemistry by means of specialization, and (ii) to impart knowledge and life skills to students so that they would not only be conversant with their fields but also have the versatility to learn new trades and adapt to a variety of jobs in today s knowledge-based economy. It is in our own interest, as literate citizens and consumers, to understand the far-reaching effects, whether positive or negative, that Chemistry has on our lives and to be able to make informed decisions about the role Chemistry has played in our world. It is not surprising for topics in Chemistry to range from the mathematical such as Quantum Chemistry to the biological such as bioactive molecules.
