More details about the program

Description

Students study both verse and prose literature in the original language and have the opportunity to translate into and out of Latin. They learn to demonstrate appreciation of literary techniques and respond personally to the texts. Latin is generally perceived as academically rigorous and as such is valued by employers and universities alike. Learning Latin demands that you think logically and develop analytical skills useful in a wide range of jobs and further study, but also that you learn to appreciate authors such as Cicero, Ovid and Virgil who have had a profound influence on Western literature.
