If you are the kind of person who asks Why do you think that , the kind of person who wants to know the reasons we believe what we do, Philosophy will help you to pose those questions and seek answers in a systematic and organized way. The Philosophy program in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences offers a major, a minor, and a certificate in ethics. Moreover, philosophy has an abiding interest in those basic assumptions about the nature of the physical and social world, and about the nature of enquiry itself, which underlie our scientific and practical endeavours.
