Description
Graduates in Orthopedic Techniques operate, on medical prescription and subsequent testing, the construction and / or adaptation, application and supply of prostheses, orthoses and substitutive, corrective and support devices of the locomotor apparatus, of a functional and aesthetic nature, of a type mechanical or using external energy or mixed bodily and external energy, by direct detection of measurements and models on the patient. Graduates in Orthopedic Techniques, within their skills, train the disabled person to use prostheses and applied orthoses; perform, in collaboration with the doctor, technical assistance for the supply, replacement and repair of prostheses and applied orthoses; collaborate with other professionals in the multidisciplinary treatment envisaged in the rehabilitation plan; they are responsible for the organization, planning and quality of professional acts carried out within their duties; they carry out their professional activity in public or private health facilities, either as dependent or freelance.
