Description
Graduates in Dietetics, as defined by the Ministerial Decree of the Ministry of University and Scientific and Technological Research of 2 April 2001 and subsequent amendments and additions, are health workers within the scope of activities aimed at the correct application of nutrition and nutrition including educational and collaborative aspects to the implementation of food policies, in compliance with current legislation. Graduates in dietetics organize and coordinate specific activities related to nutrition in general and dietetics in particular; collaborate with the bodies responsible for protecting the health and hygiene aspect of the supply service; they elaborate, formulate and implement the diets prescribed by the doctor and check the patient's acceptability; collaborate with other figures in the multidisciplinary treatment of eating behavior disorders; study and elaborate the composition of food rations to satisfy the nutritional needs of population groups and plan the organization of the feeding services of healthy and sick communities; they carry out didactic-educational activities and information aimed at spreading the principles of correct nutrition, such as to allow the recovery and maintenance of a good state of health of the individual, the community and population groups; they carry out their professional activity in public or private health facilities, either as dependent or freelance.
