Medicine is the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of disease, encompassing a great number of health care practices aimed at restoring health and preventing illness in human beings. In Spain, the right to universal health care is stated in the legislation, and most notably in our Constitution. We have a mixed health care system in which public health care institutions work alongside private clinics.
