At History at the VU you learn to do independent research from a chosen angle. In order to prepare you well for this, in the first year we first make a broad historical knowledge base: from Nero to Napoleon, from the Middle Ages to the Islamic State. In the following years you can start with historical themes, sources and events that you find interesting.
