Description
French literature and language is one of the richest cultural traditions in Europe and the globalized world. Equally rich and varied is the study of French Studies. Within the field of literary studies, it provides an overview of the history and development of Francophone literatures from the Middle Ages to the present day. It deals with literary criticism and its analysis and interpretation methods such as stylistics, narratology, poetics, intertextuality or semiotics. And it looks at the role of literature in the cultural environment of the French language - for example its connections to politics, philosophy or science. The linguistic part of the training deals with the differences and the change of French in Europe and the world: in oral and written, in formal and non-formal use, in its standard and non-standard versions, in contact with other languages, in different environments. An essential part of the study is also the acquisition of high competencies in the French language.
