BA Honours American Studies

American Studies explores the United States from distinct but inter-related viewpoints. You will learn about the politics, culture, and history of the world s lone superpower. As well as appreciating the country, you will interrogate and critique American mythologies. Our academics are at the cutting edge of research on topics such as the CIA, President Barack Obama, the respective political philosophies of Dr. Martin Luther King and Malcolm X, the black freedom movement, early American culture and the literature of the US South.
