Health is increasingly defined by biomedical technology. Technical and scientific progress is opening up new possibilities for diagnosis and treatment. Examples of the enormous progress that has been made in medical technology include many innovative implants in orthopedics and cardiology and the various imaging techniques that are now in use, such as X-ray and magnetic resonance tomography.
