Bachelor of Education BEd endorsed in TESOL Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages

The degree will provide a primary teaching qualification for Malaysian students in Malaysia with an endorsement in teaching English as a second language. The degree combines core elements of Malaysian teacher education requirements with core aspects of New Zealand teacher education and specialist knowledge. Within the endorsed degree, there are four broad strands in the context of the primary school curriculum: The Education Studies, Curriculum Studies and Professional Studies strands consist of compulsory papers, while the English and Language Studies strand, unique to the BEd(TESOL) comprises studies in linguistics, English literature including its classroom contexts and teaching English as a second language in primary school contexts.
