BS School Health Education

The BS in school health education program prepares teacher candidates for certification to teach in public schools. School health educators develop skills necessary to assess learning styles and develop education methods and materials through in-class practicum experiences and a two-semester student teaching experience at the end of the program. Students learn from engaging, interactive, hands-on demonstrations from faculty who have practiced in the field. They develop and deliver disease prevention and health promotion content aimed at developing positive health behaviors and healthy lifestyle.
