The School of Media and Performing Arts has a thriving postgraduate research culture. We offer opportunities in the areas of Film and Media, Drama and Performance, Creative Writing, and Digital Storytelling. Our recent doctoral graduates have worked on innovative projects and produced groundbreaking research. We have enabled them to present their work at international conferences, to publish their findings in scholarly journals during their period of study, and to build important academic and industry connections via our established UK networks. Many of our PhD students have had the opportunity to work at academic and commercial archives, including the BFI, the National Archives, The Bill Douglas Centre, the BBC Written Archives and at Channel 4. We have an excellent record in supporting oral history research and several of our postgraduates have conducted original interviews as part of their research.
