More details about the program

Description

The B.A. in Art, with specializations in Fine Arts, Graphic Design, and Art History, provides students with an understanding of art as a humanistic discipline and focuses on concepts and skills that lead to careers in various arts fields. The programs consist of 18 courses earning 54 credits: a required group of Department of Arts, Culture, and Media (ACM) courses, foundation courses, an area of emphasis, and a senior thesis. The emphasis is worked out in consultation with an adviser and is intended to develop ideas and skills in a particular area. During the senior year, Art, Design, and Art History students produce work (a portfolio for Art and Design students, writing samples for Art History students) that can support applications to graduate school and/or professional job entry.
