BFA Graphic Design

The B.F.A. in Design will help you develop innovative and meaningful ways of communicating ideas in a wide range of concrete and dynamic media. You will acquire skills in form-making, systems thinking, typography, interaction, and data visualization, while shaping content and form in real-world situations. The program encourages a critical engagement with contemporary culture, while equipping you for a lifetime of practice as a designer in digital and/or print design. The aim is for alumni to help shape the future direction of design. As a design major you would complete a capstone course that requires you to shape a body of self-initiated work in your final year that becomes public, whether in the form of a website, a book, an app, or other appropriate format.
