MFA Filmmaking

MFA Film Program at New York Film Academy (NYFA) is an accelerated two-year program made possible by an extended academic year. Candidates will complete three full-length semesters in each calendar year. We believe that Film directing classes are not theoretical explorations; they are practical classes designed to put candidates in the director's chair as quickly as possible. Candidates are encouraged to take creative risks and find their own voices as visual artists.
