Film Studies allows you to explore the history and theory of cinema, alongside issues of genre and the impact of digital technologies on this rapidly changing art form. A combination of core and optional modules will give you a good grounding in the concepts and approaches in film studies while allowing you to explore film from Hollywood to Japan and Korea, art house to blockbusters. With the support of the Centre for World Cinemas at Leeds you ll have a wide range of options to choose from.If you have A-level Russian or equivalent, this degree will improve and refine your language skills, and introduce you to various aspects of Russian culture, history and politics. A combination of core and optional modules will give you a firm grounding in the Russian language and you'll be able to choose from a wide range of optional modules exploring topics that suit your interests in Russian history, culture and society. You ll also spend a year studying in Russia to develop your spoken and written Russian. But you ll also choose from optional modules to explore topics from Dostoevsky to the language of the media.
