Novosibirsk State Pedagogical University was established in 1935. It is currently the largest pedagogical university in Siberia and the surrounding region.
There are a variety of courses available at the university for students to study. Some of these include chemistry, ecology and nature management, information systems and technologies, psychological sciences, and journalism. The university offers courses at both undergraduate and graduate level. There is also the option for students to study part-time.
The university is committed to resolving scientific and methodological problems in the field of education. This is achieved by carrying out research throughout the academic year. The university has developed 46 research units and 11 scientific schools. Annually the university hosts 80 scientific conferences, seminars and lectures, 30 of which are international. There are also more than 2,000 student scientific papers published every year to share knowledge and research.
Every year the university welcomes increasing numbers of international students. The student body consists of students from more than 30 countries. The university has established partnerships with over 100 higher education institutions around the world, which helps to facilitate academic exchange programmes.
The university is located in Novosibirsk, a city in Novosibirsk Oblast, southern Russia. It is situated along the banks of the Ob River in southwestern Siberia. Despite being Russia’s third largest city, Novosibirsk boasts a number of parks and tree-lined avenues, which distracts from the hustle and bustle of the city centre.
