Description
Are you motivated to offer the very best support to your athletes?
Are you committed to developing your skills as a coach?
If the answer is yes, then join respected coaches Dr Suzanne Ferreira and Dr Wilbur Kraak, from Stellenbosch University in South Africa as they explore what makes good coaches great.
They’ll begin by visiting the fundamentals of your role as a coach, they’ll explore three well known coaching styles and finally, discuss how communication, team culture and the coaching environment itself are key factors when optimising the impact of your programme.
The team will blend known theoretical principles with insights from over 20 years of working with novice athletes through to Olympic champions.
What will I learn?
Upon completion of this short course, you will:
Understand your explicit roles and responsibilities
Understand the difference between the three recognised leadership styles
Understand what constitutes effective communication within a coaching environment
Understand the significance of the coaching environment to an athlete’s development
This course will take approximately 30-45 minutes to complete. Once completed, join with fellow athletes and coaches from around the world in our dedicated community space.
