Computer Science and Engineering

The School of Computer Science and Engineering (formerly the School of Information Technology), founded in 2000, is one of the first four colleges in the university, with a complete talent training system ranging from bachelor, master to doctorate. At present, the Bachelor of Science program has three majors: Computer Science, Electronic and Information Engineering and Software Engineering; the Master of Science (Information Technology) degree program has three majors: Computer and Information Systems, Communication Engineering and Space Information Technology, as well as Application The Master of Mathematics and Data Science program; the Doctor of Science program has three majors: computer technology and its applications, electronic information technology and space information technology, a doctorate program in advanced networks, and a doctorate program in artificial intelligence. Over the years, the college has trained nearly 1,339 Bachelor of Science, 425 Master of Science, and 123 Doctor of Science. 　　In 2021, the computer science major of Macau University of Science and Technology will be ranked 101-125 in the world in the 2022 World University Subject Rankings released by Times Higher Education; In the ShanghaiRanking's Global Ranking of Academic Subjects, it ranks in the 151-200 range in the world, and this ranking targets more than 500 universities around the world. 　　In recent years, the Institute's research has made great progress. For the 2019-2020 academic year, the Institute’s research funding is 75 million patacas (69 projects), and the funding sources include: Science and Technology Development Fund of the Macau Special Administrative Region, National Natural Science Foundation of China, Macau Higher Education Fund, etc. According to the "Essential Science Indicators" (ESI) statistics released by Clarivate Analytics (formerly Thomson Reuters) in July 2021, the computer science of Macau University of Science and Technology entered the global universities and scientific research fields for the first time. Institutions rank in the top 1%. The research results of the college have made important contributions to this. In order to further promote the development of research projects, the college also applied for a grant of more than 7 million patacas, and established the most advanced GPU family server in Macau in 2019.
