Art and cultural studiesAdd to Favourites
The course is based on an understanding of art and cultural studies based on the socially related art and culture concept represented at the University of Applied Sciences with global and transcultural perspectives. This aims to neither strictly delimit art and culture nor to dissolve them into one another.
The newly developed course offers several special features: The close proximity to practice in the artistic classes of the applied and thus the interlinking of scientific, artistic and craft-technical subjects, the decidedly interdisciplinary orientation of the courses through the permanent cooperation of the departments, the concrete and material-related Working in collectives and the freedom to design and choose your own projects.
The focus each semester is on project-related seminars and regular colloquia; they enable intensive and critical discussions of one's own work from the first semester onwards. The basis is a society-related concept of art and culture, as well as the development of power-critical strategies and participatory approaches. The focus of the course is on the art and cultural studies subjects of the university (cultural studies, art history, art theory, philosophy, transcultural studies), but the entire range of courses in applied science can also be used.
